The D has arrived

The Tenacious D album has just arrived and im enjoying it so much. With the Deluxe edition i ordered, i have my very own Pick of Destiny which looks amazing. The album features some amazing songs, could be spoilers to the film though. My favourite song has to be "Beelzeboss(The Final Showdown)". If you have heard it, you would know why. My only gripe about the album is that its pretty short and just tips over 30mins long (33.6mins to be exact). Thats the only let down i can say about it. Dave Grohl appears on the CD as The Devil in the song Beelzeboss and his vocals are great. Its an awesome album with a nice undertone of metal.

WoW Amnesty Broken

Im sad to admit it, but after 16 days of no WoW, i went back last night. Its not a crime nor is it the end of the world. I went back to catch up with a few people i know on it and to make sure that the guild im co-leading atm is still in one piece. Ofcourse, everything is fine and I may play again tonight. Maybe get a guild run to UBRS (Upper Blackrock Spire) if i can be bothered.

Another boring sunday looms over us, and for those of us that had to get up early today for work, i sympathise with. Getting up every sunday at 8 isnt my idea of a nice sunday. Today, is of course Rememberance Sunday where we put aside some time to think about and remember those that died for our country in The First and Second World Wars. We also remember all those that have died for us in any war, especially those in the last century. I saw out the window of where i work all the Scouts and Brownies on parade with hundreds of spectators. At 11 the whole high street fell silent.. except for the one inconsiderate prick who thought that it was an oppurtune moment to get their shopping done in 4 minutes (I work as a shop assistant) whilst everyone else is standing still. The guy rushes in, piles his basket up with stuff within 4 minutes by shooting around the shop on his pacey heels. He timed it just right so that when we did start serving again, he got first in line on the till. Quite impressive really and it was great being a spectator. Seeing a grown man shoot around a store and get out within 5 minutes was a sight to behold. Quite inconsiderate, but hillarious to know that there are people out there who are willing to do such things to save themselves a couple of minutes.

I <3 Amazon

I said in my last post that I was expecting the Metallica albums to arrive on my doorstep on Monday because of the email i recieved from Amazon telling me this. But surprise surprise, i woke up this morning to find a nice Amazon package on my doorstep addressed to me. Inside, were the two albums. Im really happy now, as i can start Pokémon Silver again whilst rocking out.

About the Pokémon Silver... At our college, everyone has started playing Silver/Gold again and it is becoming quite a frequent sight to see Goths and Metallers battling each other Pokémon style. The GBA is back in fashion and so is Pokémon. I would carry on with my level 74s and 78s but for some reason, i only have 4 pokemon instead of 6. Baffles me really, but I want to start again as the duels at the moment at college are of level 20 to 30 so I should be able to catch up from scratch for monday over this weekend. I might post my Poké progress later on :D

No WoW for 15 Days

It's official, I have been without World of Warcraft for 15 whole days, purely out of choice. I have to say that I dont miss it at all, but i do miss the £25 i spent for 3 months because i thought i would start playing again :(

Moving on, you may notice the Picture of the Week has been updated. I know it has been over a week since the last one, but i have only just started the blog so i still need to get timing and other stuff sorted out. Maybe the pic of the week will get updated weekly sometime soon.

Albums

I am going to talk about the latest albums that I will be getting. Although old, Metallica - Black and Master of Puppets will be arriving on my doorstep on Monday. Ive neglected Metallica too much over my life and I have been trying to get these two albums off a mate over the last two weeks but hes been a false hope. So ordering them for myself from amazon.co.uk (if Amazon are reading this, a 15% discount would be lovely) is my solution.

The other album that I have been waiting for for 5 years now is the new Tenacious D album, Pick of Destiny. Essentially it is the soundtrack for their film which is released in the UK November 22nd, but none the less, i expect it to be awesome. It should arrive at my house on the 13th/14th of November as it is released on the 13th. I have only heard 3 of the 15 songs from the album, but what i have heard, sounds great. The songs being Pick Of Destiny, Classico* and Master Exploder. The videos look great and the songs still retain their hillarious and clever lyrics. Any D lover will get this album as it is the first thing to come from them in 5 years.

*Classico has a weird video so might not be suited for you if you are young or with your parents.

Fireworks night and my day today

Last night was fireworks night and i celebrated with about 10 mates round a good mate of mine's house. Enjoying the sunday night with a couple of cans round a bonfire with a good show of fireworks cant be easily beaten. But of course it being on a sunday night and i had college in the morning, i felt terrible today. After having little sleep, i had to crawl out of my bed and get myself in shape for college.

When I finally got in from college and i had a great hour or so with my lovely bass. I must say that im enjoying this "project" of mine. My evenings are getting less boring and i feel that im learning quite alot. I will be having my first lesson with my mate on thursday so ill see how it goes. I really need to catch up with my sleep tonight which is why this post is going to be so short. I could have written an hour long essay about how much fun i had last night but im really too tired. Ill write more tomorow hopefully.

Me and my Bass

Today i bought a Bass guitar. My evenings are usually quite boring now so i decided that i might start up a hobby. Seeing that one of my best mates is awesome at Bass and is willing to teach me every week, I thought "why the hell not". I toodled off to a music shop thats near me which has quite good prestige and found myself buying this awesome instrument. It is a Cort Bass and looks pretty hot. Ive been playing about on it for about 2 hours now and im starting to get the hang of things. I just need hours more of practicing and when i start to have my lessons, i should progress even faster. Here are some pics of my Bass.

Note that i took these pictures on my phone so the quality of the pictures are a little low.

Gears of War

To start my post off, id like to tell you all that ive been ill today. Suffering from a dodgy tummy, i spent the day in bed watching Bowls on the TV. Im alot better now after ive eaten and used the loo; several times, but thats too much information :D

Moving on. Gears of War, a highly anticipated First Person Shooter thats going to make its way on the XBox 360 on November 17th. Being an XBox fan i should really have watched more videos, read more reviews and looked into it more than i have. But from what i have seen, its going to be one of the must have games for the 360. Being a fan of FPS's I am most likely going to be buying this game. Im not going to bum this game up or anything, but i think it is a game definately worth getting. You can tell this by one of the previews from Amazon.co.uk.

"oh yes this is the big one this is goin to one the the games that takes the 360 to the top, you see a few videos, read a couple of previews and know: THIS IS GOING TO BE FAN-BLOODY-TASTIC ! ! !"

Please note that the quote is completely unedited. The use of tmesis is interesting considering the lack of punctuation and presumably education this individual has. More surprisingly, 15 out of 96 people found his comments helpful. If you dont need my blessing on this game, then "unreal_617"'s should be enough for you.
